We are Better Together.&nbsp;</strong></p></div><div><strong>What do we need</strong></div> <div>We are seeking a&nbsp;<strong>Solutions Architect</strong>&nbsp;to be a senior technical authority within Dotmatics Professional Services, responsible for defining and governing end-to-end solution architectures for customer implementations of the Dotmatics Luma platform — including its role as the orchestration backbone connecting scientific informatics, data pipelines, and physical lab execution environments.<br>The role combines deep technical architecture expertise with an appreciation of scientific R&amp;D workflows. The Principal Solutions Architect ensures that solutions are not only functionally correct, but also meet rigorous non-functional requirements around performance, scalability, security, reliability, observability, maintainability, and long-term operability.</div> <div><br>This trusted technical advisor role is highly customer-facing and works closely with Sales, PreSales, Product, Engineering, Cloud Operations, and Siemens Digital Industries Software (DISW) architecture teams. It plays a key role in joint Siemens engagements, positioning Luma alongside technologies such as Teamcenter, Mendix, Opcenter, and other DISW portfolio solutions — particularly where scientific workflows intersect with industrial automation and lab execution.<br><br><strong>In this role you will get to</strong><br><br><strong>Architecture &amp; Design Authority</strong></div>

<li>Act as the design authority for Luma-based customer solutions, including end-to-end lab orchestration architectures that span scientific informatics, data infrastructure, and physical lab systems</li> <li>Define logical and physical architectures covering applications, data, integrations, identity, environments, and operations</li> <li>Architect solutions that bridge the&nbsp;<strong>digital and physical lab</strong>&nbsp;— connecting experiment planning, protocol authoring, and scheduling through to execution on automated instruments, workcells, and robotic platforms</li> <li>Ensure architectural consistency across multiple customer engagements</li> <li>Make and document architectural trade-offs considering cost, complexity, scalability, risk, and long-term sustainability</li>

<div><strong>Functional &amp; Non-Functional Requirements</strong></div>

<li>Shape functional requirements in collaboration with Scientific Architect and Application Scientists, including workflow automation requirements that span study design through instrument-level execution</li> <li>Own non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, security, resilience, observability, accessibility, internationalisation, and maintainability</li> <li>Translate business and scientific needs into robust technical architectures, including requirements for automated, auditable lab workflows in regulated environments</li>

<div><strong>Integration, Data Architecture &amp; Lab Orchestration</strong></div>

<ul>

<li>Design integration approaches using technologies such as Apache NiFi, APIs, batch pipelines, and event-driven patterns — including real-time instrument data streams and workcell status events</li> <li>Define data ingestion, transformation, and migration strategies that accommodate the high-frequency, heterogeneous data generated by automated lab environments</li> <li>Architect solutions that enable experiments to transition seamlessly from&nbsp;<em>planned</em>&nbsp;→&nbsp;<em>scheduled</em>&nbsp;→&nbsp;<em>executing</em>&nbsp;→&nbsp;<em>data captured</em>&nbsp;with minimal manual intervention, leveraging Luma as the orchestration layer</li> <li>Define integration patterns with&nbsp;<strong>lab automation and scheduling platforms</strong>&nbsp;(e.g., Thermo SiLA/SAMI, Tecan FluentControl, Overlord, Momentum, Synthace) and instrument connectivity layers (SiLA2, LADS, OPC-UA, vendor APIs)</li> <li>Architect solutions leveraging Databricks, including configuration via Databricks SQL, for aggregation and analysis of instrument and experimental data at scale</li> <li>Ensure data lineage, auditability, and regulatory compliance across the full experimental data lifecycle, from instrument output through to structured scientific records</li> <li>Support visualisation and analytics patterns using tools such as Sigma for Databricks</li>

<div><strong>Platform and Enterprise Integration</strong></div>

<ul>

<li>Architect Luma solutions that integrate with customer enterprise systems including: ELNs (Dotmatics &amp; third-party), LIMS, SDMS, PLM, ERP, MES, instrument data systems, and lab automation schedulers</li> <li>Define how Dotmatics fits within broader&nbsp;<strong>Siemens landscapes</strong>, including Teamcenter, Mendix, Opcenter, and SIMATIC, particularly in environments where scientific R&amp;D and industrial/manufacturing processes converge</li> <li>Scope and design integrations with third-party scientific platforms including ELN/LIMS providers (e.g., Benchling, LabVantage, IDBS, LabWare), scientific data analysis tools (e.g., Spotfire, JMP, Pipeline Pilot, Geneious), and lab automation platforms — ensuring coherent data flow and workflow continuity across the full stack</li> <li>Define sample tracking, workcell scheduling, and instrument connectivity architectures as part of broader lab orchestration solution design</li>

<div><strong>Security, Reliability, and Operations</strong></div>

<li>Apply security best practices covering IAM, data protection, tenancy, and compliance, including considerations specific to connected lab environments and OT/IT boundary management</li> <li>Design for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery</li> <li>Define observability strategies including logging, monitoring, and alerting — extended to cover automated lab execution environments and instrument connectivity layers</li>
