Which fields in Germany are actually open in English?
"Tech is fine in English, the rest needs German" is the folk wisdom. Here is what our bank says about Germany, field by field : how many roles are live, how many the listing itself opens to English speakers, and how long the ones in that field usually take to close.
We track 102,014 live German roles in total, the federal job-agency feed included ; this table reads the ones carrying a full job description, the only kind whose language and field we can verify.

This table describes GERMANY's own desks : roles located in Germany, full stop. Remote roles are left out of these counts entirely : a remote posting tells you about a hiring market, not about a place, and blending them in made every place look more English than its offices are. Roles we can confidently place outside Germany are left out too ; a role we cannot place stays in, because doubt banks. They are all still in our bank and in your matches. Counts come from last night's snapshot, not the second you are reading this. English-workable is the same floor as everywhere on this page : the listing itself confirms English is enough, and roles that state nothing are not counted. "Typical close" is the field's median age at closing over a rolling 21-day window, so a field whose roles close in seven weeks is not judged by the same clock as one that closes in four. "Long-open share" is the roles now sitting older than their own field's median ; the slice past that field's 90th percentile is the part that, in our records, usually dies unfilled. A field with fewer than 30 closings in the window leaves those two columns blank because we do not guess : a blank there means no history, never zero.
Left out of the ranking on purpose : 8,103 live roles whose title our classifier cannot place in any of these fields. It is usually the largest single bucket, and it is a bucket, not a field : ranking it first would make this table's headline finding a fact about our own classifier rather than about the market.

How long have these roles been sitting open?
A job board shows you a wall of "live" roles. Here is how old they actually are. The longer a role sits open, the likelier it is filled, frozen, or never real : the ghost-job pattern.
Counts only roles whose posting date we know : a conservative floor. Undated roles are left out, not guessed into a bucket, so the real stale share can only be higher than what you see here.
We watch the same job come back around, and when a role reappears it does so a median of 16 days later. A role on a fortnightly loop is rarely a fresh opportunity : it is a slot that keeps churning.

English-workable = the listing itself confirms English is enough (posting language, an explicit English-first line, or no other language required). Roles that state nothing are NOT counted as English-workable : the true number can only be higher than shown. That is the point : floors, not hype. This table and the two headline figures marked as overnight all come from the same nightly snapshot ; the rest of the headline numbers are live.
One honest caveat : coverage differs by city. Berlin includes the full federal job-agency feed ; the other cities mostly reflect the company career boards we track, which skew international. Each share describes what we track there, not that city's entire market : so do not read Munich's high share against Berlin's low one as a market comparison.

The employers on our tracked boards with the most roles open to English speakers this week. A starting point, not a ranking of quality : it is who has doors open, by count of English-workable roles.
Counts English-workable roles only, from the company career boards we track (the federal feed and other aggregators are excluded here : this is employers, not job boards). Numbers move as roles open and close.
Where these numbers come from
The German federal job agency feed plus a few hundred company career boards (Greenhouse, Personio, Ashby, Lever and friends), every one verified by hand before we ingest it. Deduplicated across sources.
The bank re-checks itself around the clock : new roles drip in all day, links are health-checked, and a listing that 404s is marked dead instead of being shown to you as an opportunity.
Every percentage is computed only from listings where we KNOW the answer. Unknown posting date? Not counted as stale. Language not stated? Not counted as English-workable. The real numbers can only be worse for the boards and better for you.
Most listings state no language requirement at all : we show that gap as its own number instead of guessing it away. When we cannot verify something, we say so. That is the whole product.
